I got my splint and sling off today, so I’m (kinda) back. YAY! I’m still not supposed to type a whole lot, but a little bit is better than what I did have.
Apparently, all is on-track with my recovery & healing process, and I start therapy on Monday.

Not working has introduced me to Lifetime television. Corny movies and re-runs. I’ve discovered an old love. I’d forgotten exactly how much I loved this show.
I love Will & Grace!!!

I missed last week, and typing one-handed really sucks. Only a couple for this week.
Seriously, I do NOT understand. Why do people like this even bother to get married?? It makes me so angry.
Yeah, we’re all freaks in some way, honey.

I’m leaving in a few minutes to go have my lil’ outpatient surgery. Due to the nature of my recovery, I’m not sure how much typing I’ll be able to do for awhile. This might be the last thing anyone hears from me online for a little while. Y’all think about me, k?

You know, I’ve been hearing my husband’s voice on the phone for almost three years now. It still makes my tummy jump and my face smile when I hear a voice mail or message from him. I talk to him several times a day, every day, but those messages are still special. Isn’t that nice? I love him.
Another thing which moves me - and about which I had totally forgotten until just a few minutes ago - is the original theme song and intro to the Star Trek (fairly short-lived) series, “Enterprise.” I just … mmm. Love it. Check it out.
Here’s my thank you. Foxmarks - you rule!! If y’all use Firefox and don’t have Foxmarks, I would suggest you check it out - even if you don’t use multiple computers. It’s nice to have a back-up. Were it not for Foxmarks, I’d be up that creek without that paddle right about now!

My tennis elbow surgery is scheduled for next Tuesday at 3:15 p.m. I have to be there at 2:15 p.m. I’m not allowed to have anything to eat or drink after midnight Monday. Except clear liquids up until 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
That means no food. I’m accustomed to eating a little something every two hours. If I miss, peoples’ lives become endangered.
That also means no coffee.
My poor husband.

I’m a little late with my posting this week, but I’m not sure anyone ever really pays attention, anyway, so — there.
HAHAHA! Classic!!!
In my opinion, that is definitely a promise to break. Good for you.
It’s not, honey. It’s really not.
Niiiice. And then you kicked his ass, divorced him, and took everything he had, right? I hope so. At least the “kicked his ass” part, anyway.

We finished up our grocery shopping today. By shopping store specials (at 3 different stores, mind you) and using coupons, we ended up saving $64.92 on our total grocery bill this week. Plus, that gave us tons of meat. I think the most impressive amount saved was on the boneless skinless chicken breasts. They were on sale for $1.67 per pound, and I believe they’re usually around $3.89 or more per pound. We snatched up four packs and spent $17 instead of $40!! WOO HOO!!!
My freezer is full and happy. And tonight, we will celebrate by having chicken fried rice.

One of my LJ friends posted this the other day:
It turns out that GMail has a security hole you could sail an oil tanker through. It also turns out there’s a fix that any non-techie who can follow step-by-step instructions should be able to follow. If you use GMail, please read this post, and apply the fix.
It would be my suggestion that everyone read this article and follow the instructions!

Granted, I can see the humor in this - but as a public ad in a fast food restaurant? Wow. I really am stunned!

Given our changing financial situation, I’ve really cracked down on trying to save on groceries by shopping specials, loss leaders, using a price book, and using coupons. SO FAR this week (just on a short meat run to one store), I’ve saved$16.50. Check it out:

Yes, I am happy with that! Woo hoo for vigilance!!

So, I was reading Dooce yesterday, and she mentioned her Five Fame Fuckers, so I went and checked it out. This, of course, got my brain going, and I desperately tried to come up with five names for my list. You’d think it would be easy, but it’s seriously not! Not for me, anyway. It was much easier for Jake. LOL.
See, there are lots of people I consider good looking. Gorgeous, even. That doesn’t mean I’d want to fuck them. There has to be something … hel, I don’t know … special about them. That thing that makes me go, “RAWR!!!!!”
So, here are mine and Jake’s lists.
MINE
- Jason Momoa
- Matthew McConaughey
- Djimon Hounsou
- Salma Hayek
- Gerard Butler (still not sure about him, but I couldn’t think of anyone else)
JAKE’s
- Queen Latifah
- Monica Bellucci
- Jessica Biehl
- Salma Hayek
- Mary McCormack
So, there you have it. Our Five Fame Fuckers lists.

I LOVE some of the clothes from The Pyramid Collection. However, they’re all just too damn expensive for me! URGH!
I should buy a sewing machine and teach myself how to sew.
If only I weren’t so darned lazy, right?

“Forgiveness is the fragrance the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.”
— Mark Twain
Humans tend to think that forgiveness somehow involves being weak or giving in or helping the person we’re forgiving somehow - by giving them the benefit of the doubt, making them seem innocent, or otherwise letting them get away with something. This is not absolutely true. Forgiveness is, more often than not, about our own self-preservation. Hanging onto resentment and bitterness rarely affects the person toward whom you direct them (barring some sort of pointed action, of course). The hanging-on merely serves to keep YOU in torment, personal strife, and unhappiness.
Forgiveness is letting go.
Not for them.
For YOU.
I am not advocating forgiveness as always being the right answer. Some things, in my opinion, are unforgivable! At least by me. Having said that, however, those things are pretty rare, and I’ve yet to come across them in my personal life. Hopefully, I never will.
The next time you find yourself feeling hatred or bitterness for someone, take a little step back and examine the situation. What will actually bring YOU the most comfort and peace? Hanging onto those feelings — or letting them go? That’s all forgiveness is, really … letting go.
Give it a shot sometime and see what happens. Just like the violet, something wonderful may come of it.

Well, I gave my notice last Thursday. August 22nd will be my last day working here.
I am going to:
- Do my substitute teacher training at the end of August
- Have tennis elbow surgery on September 2nd and recover from that
- Study to pass my GACE tests
- Substitute teach when I can
- Pass GACE tests
- Try to procure employment as a teacher, preferably at a close-by school system
- Try NOT to go crazy with worry
So, there it is. The deed is done. I’m scared but excited.

I wonder if I’ll send in a secret some day.
I hope the toilet paper rots off your cooch — and I hope his wife catches him and hurts him.
Be careful what you wish for!
Better safe than sorry, I say. LOL.
Stitched with love!! ROFLMAO!! This is priceless.
