LOTR: TTT

Posted in General at 6:39 pm by Jules

FINALLY!!!

Draaz and I went yesterday and experienced the second installment of this wonderful trilogy!! I loved it. I think I actually enjoyed it more than FOTR. Perhaps that is only because I haven’t seen FOTR recently… not sure.

Elijah Wood’s performance in this as Frodo was much more involved and riveting than in the first film, as was that of Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn.

The FX were, of course, outstanding…. (Legolas and the sudden mounting of the white horse HOOO WEE!!! Not to mention the shield slide bit…) and I found myself just thinking Gimli was hot as hell…. :-/

I worry ’bout myself sometimes here lately… First it was this strange attraction to Hagrid in Harry Potter… and now the frickin dwarf in LOTR… hmmm…

Friends List

Posted in General at 12:46 am by Jules

This is going to make me look SO pathetic, but screw it… here goes anyway!!!

For a long time now, it has been an ongoing mission of mine to try and get my name onto one certain person’s “friends” list…. Why?? I don’t have a clue!!! LOL I laugh at myself all the time because of it…. Now, I haven’t done anything out-of-the-way or lied or schmoozed or anything like that to try and get added, and I continue to tell myself not to take it personally, but sometimes I can’t help it!

OH well…. :)
I will keep checking… and perhaps one day… I will be blessed….

Well…..

Posted in General at 1:47 am by Jules

I wanted to write an entry which was snappy and humorous and meaningful in some way or another.

I’m too tired for that. I think I’ll just ramble.

ON that note, I just received this e-mail from a friend:

Comforting….

Not that I expect gov’t officials to be perfect; I certainly do not. Still, it DON’T LOOK TOO GOOD, JOE BOB!

If I could snap my fingers….

1) Being a congressman/woman would not be a full-time job. People would do it on their own time and be compensated for expenses only.
2) If #1 were not possible, they certainly would only have a salary comparable to that of the average American.
3) The income tax would be gone. A higher sales tax would be instituted and this is where our country would get its operating money. That way, the only way folks can avoid paying taxes is by not buying much of anything. (Sure, this would promote black market activity, I’m sure — but no “fix” is perfect.)
4) Insurance companies? GONE
5) Doctors would certainly make less money than they do now, and medical school wouldn’t cost nearly as much. Health care is a NECESSARY SERVICE to humankind. Why should these people profit SO much off the misfortune of others??

Ok, I’m done. I could go on. This is, by far, NOT the entire list….. Frankly, I don’t want to get all wrapped up in getting angry this late at night, and I’m quickly headed in that direction!

> 5. A Dell technician received a call from a customer who was
enraged because his computer had told him he was “Bad and an invalid.”
The tech explained that the computer’s “bad command” and “invalid”
responses shouldn’t be taken personally.

> TECH SUPPORT: “Okay Bob, let’s press the control and escape keys
>at the same time. That brings up a task list in the middle of the
>screen. Now type the letter “P” to bring up the Program Manager.”

> CUSTOMER: “I’m not going to do that!”

Gotta love sheep!!! ;)

Stuck…..

Posted in General at 8:10 pm by Jules

I’m stuck in a 70’s office with some kind of air filter thing-a-ma-jig stuck in the ceiling which no longer works but insists on making these squeaky sounds constantly, a fax machine that wails and moans a LOT better than it sends and receives, a copier who can’t decide how dark or light it wants to copy, a 15 inch monitor which is so blurry and ugly looking that it’s starting to affect my eyes, a computer which DESPERATELY needs an overhaul, no working back-up system of which to speak, wood panelling on the walls, no windows, buggy fluorescent lights, and so much dust you can see it when you breathe.

Oh yeah, did I mention that the company made so much money last year (for its size) we had to give enormous Christmas bonuses to employees just to keep from having to pay an assload more taxes than normal? My boss says, “We needed to spend some money.”

HELLO!?!?!?!?! LOOK AROUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*sigh*

I’m pouty and ill and sleepy and tired and pissy today….

…and I have to go home and teach a violin lesson!

bangs her head on the blurry monitor
