*sigh* I just hate this. I mean, I love computer animation, but I really don’t like the idea of it as a replacement for hand-drawn animation. *SIGH*

(Yes, this is only one animation studio, but I can still see the direction they’re headed. I hope I’m wrong.)

German Theme

Posted in General at 8:57 pm by Jules

My friends and I are having a little get-together on Sunday, and the food theme is “German” food. I was looking and looking and looking online today for German recipes, and I found a few. Most of the ones I found - which I figured would be really good - are actually in the German language (of course). Not sure how reliable Google translator would be when it comes to a recipe. I think I’d rather not risk it.

I finally found one that sounds a bit unusual, and I thought it might be a good try. I believe the woman whose site I found this on is actually German, so possibly it’s authentic. Don’t know.

Sauerkraut Lasagna

1 package lasagna noodles, uncooked
1 (16.00 ounces) can sauerkraut, drained
3 tablespoons butter
2 red bell peppers, seeded and chopped
1 onion, chopped
2 tablespoons tomato paste
7 fluid ounces white wine
1 cup sour cream
1 cup creme fraiche
5 ounces shredded cheese (or more, just as you like)
1 tablespoon sugar
salt & pepper

1. Put the butter into a pan and heat, then add the onions and pepper and saute about 5 minutes.
2. Add tomato paste.
3. Add sauerkraut an wine.
4. Cover pan and simmer for 20-25 minutes.
5. Stir now and then.
6. Add sugar, pepper, salt, sour cream and creme fraiche.
7. Stir well.
8. In a 9×13-inch dish layer noodles and sauerkraut.
9. Repeat layers, until the last layer= sauerkraut.
10. Put layer of cheese on top of sauce.
11. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30-40 minutes.

I don’t even know if I like sauerkraut. I’ve never had it that I can recall. I guess we’ll find out when I make this! LOL

My page is very large horizontally. I scrolled down and didn’t see any large pictures or anything, so I can’t quite figure out what the deal is.

Anyone else having similar problems?

Netscape Radio

Posted in General at 7:48 pm by Jules

My co-worker installed Netscape Radio on her machine awhile back and now there is just pop-up bullshit everywhere. Anyone know how to get rid of this? An uninstall file didn’t come with it, and going through the control panel only deletes it from the list in the add/remove programs dialog.

How do you tell the difference between Liberals, Conservatives and Southerners?

Pose the following question:

You’re walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, raises the knife, and charges.

You are carrying a Glock 40, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family.

What do you do?

Liberal Answer:

Well, that’s not enough information to answer the question! Does the man look poor or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack? Could we run away? What does my wife think? What about the kids? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand? What does the law say about this situation? Does the Glock have an appropriate safety built into it?

Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children? Is it possible he’d be happy with just killing me?

Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me ? If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me?

Should I call 9-1-1?

Why is this street so deserted? We need to raise taxes, have a paint and eed day and make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.

This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for a few days and try to come to a consensus.

Conservative Answer:

BANG!

Southerner’s Answer :

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

click… (sounds of reloading).

Wife: “Hun, he looks like he’s still moving, whadda y’all kids think?”

Son: “Mama’s right Daddy, I saw it, too.”

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! click.

Daughter: “Nice group, Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver Tips?”
