Not as if I post my own entries much, anyway, but I thought I’d let everyone know I won’t be around for a few days. I’m having surgery early Monday morning and will be in the hospital for a couple of nights and away from home for another night after that.

My husband found this cool little German restaurant in a (kinda) nearby town earlier this week, so we decided to drive over last night for dinner. Man, was that ever some good food. It’s authentic and homemade, and the spaetzle was so good, I almost made myself sick this morning eating leftovers! I can’t remember the name of the particular dish I had, but it was pork loin with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut (which was so delicious).
Must go again - soon.
I don’t remember having much food like that while I was in (former East) Germany back in 1993. Then again, I suppose some of it is regional. All I remember is lots of cold cuts and cheese with bread and butter. That’s what we ended up having the most. I do remember a couple of soup-type dishes and some sausages here and there, but that’s about it, really.

I’ve been trying to think of something to do with my site for a little while now, and I keep drawing a blank. I love the art, and I really like the color scheme. However, the content is way lacking, and even in its current simple form, it hasn’t “moved” me enough to force me to update it frequently.
I’ve thought about doing a “family update” type site, but I’m not sure if I want much personal info out there on the web anymore. I’ve also thought about doing a personal blog there (as I generally don’t post my random miscellaneous thoughts here), but that idea seems kinda bluh, too. My friend and I discussed the possibility of doing sister “review” sites. One with music, one with movies. Something like that.
Just don’t know.
Finally got the entire show on DVD. I almost hated to watch knowing that certain questions would never be answered, and I would never see new episodes with these wonderful characters again. *sigh*
I wonder what ever happened with the movie they had thought about doing. I went and checked on IMDB, and there is very little info on there. Does anyone know anything about that?

Ever since I first heard about Nielsen (seems like it was on Roseanne), I have always wished I could be a participant. My chance finally came! YAY!
This may seem a pathetic wish to some, but I love T.V., and I always thought it would be so cool for my choices to be entered into all that data somehow.
It’s not quite what I expected. I had always thought there was a box they hooked up to your T.V. and monitored, but that’s not what we got. We have a diary we have to actually write in and keep up with every day. Surprisingly, it seems as though I watch less T.V. than I initially thought. So far, anyway. We just started Thursday morning, and my usual line-up wasn’t on that night, but we’ve got the next few days coming up.
