You know, it’s bad enough I have to BE at work when I’d rather be just about anywhere else - besides the gynecologist’s office - but it always makes it worse when people say that I don’t DO anything!!
My brother called me a few minutes ago.
Him: “What’s up, man?”
Me: “Working.”
Him: “Yeah, right!”
GRRRRRRRR!!!!!! So, that automatically gets under my skin because
1) someone else already insinuated the same earlier this morning by being a severe smart-ass
and
2) I have been SO busy at work lately, it has taken over all of the time I’m here!!
I’d love to not show up one day and not do anything, so everyone would realize just how much I actually do around here.
*sigh*
Lottery…. lottery…. lottery…. lottery….
*SIGH*!!!!!!!!!!!!

Upon my doctor’s orders - and because it’s good for you - I have been attempting to embark on a regular exercise routine. (I’ve not been doing so well, though.) I went to Curves for awhile with my mom, but I got to where I absolutely HATED to go! My time has become precious to me, and if I’m going to spend 30+ minutes per day exercising, I decided I would rather it be something more productive (besides just health benefits). So, I decided to investigate dancing instruction videos!!!
I hit the jackpot at Amazon and found several that looked promising, but I decided to start with Bellydance Fitness for Beginners: Arms, Abs, Hips, Buns, and Thighs. It’s a pretty good thing. The two twin sisters, Neena and Veena, are very talented and have studied bellydance for a looong time. I don’t think some of the moves are explained well enough, but… let me tell you. That shit is HARD!! I did the workout for the first time this past Sunday, and my muscles are still sore! I’ve not attempted again, even though I should have yesterday. Aside from being difficult, I felt like a wounded moose trying to be graceful and do some of those moves. Hehehehe. I can only hope it will get better as I go along.
I’m considering getting some Bellydance instructional videos rather than the “fitness” one. That way, I would at least be learning some actual dancing.
So, the next time you watch a bellydancer, remember…. that smile covers a lot of hard work and loads of stamina!!!

My sister-in-law has been sending me MP3s from this season’s American Idol contestants (because I just can’t stomach Randy for another season, so I ain’t watchin’). Well, in addition to that, she and my brother also watch Nashville Star. Yesterday, she sent me a song by a chick named Sheila Marshall. (She was a contestant on a previous season of NS.) I reeeeeeeeally like her!! I went onto Napster today to see if I could find her stuff to download (because I’m impatient and didn’t want to wait for the CD to come in the mail), and I was in luck! So, I purchased her self-titled LP. Everything I’ve heard so far is great except for one song. Another one is so-so. What a cool voice she has, though. It sorta reminds me of Michelle Malone.
I’m happy! More new music!!

GEORGE: Here it is!
TEACHER: Correct. Now class, who discovered America?
CLASS: George!

time was we were afraid of living. it’s not until we’ve found a true reason that we realize how important living actually is. true living, not just going through the motions. true feeling. true pain. true love. life is not simple nor sanitized. life is messy & dangerous. it’s not to be taken for granted. if it is, it will pass over you with cruel apathy, or it will endow you with the deepest pain & most empty longing you’ve known or can imagine.
such is the case when we allow ourselves to open and truly experience. it leaves us whole. it leaves us empty. it leaves us sad and happy. most of all, it leaves us alive. what other way is there to be?
