Dreams

Posted in General at 7:55 am by Jules

Last night I dreamed I was pregnant and Raoul wasn’t played by Patrick Wilson in the Phantom movie.

Ok

That car is totalled. Trying to find another one. It’s really *not* a very fun process, as our only other means of transportation right now is a motorcycle which my husband is currently incapable of riding.

Getting an ‘04 Mustang today to test drive for a bit. Who knows if I’ll like it or not, but it’s a way to go for a little while. :)

My New Love…

Posted in Movies, Music at 6:44 pm by Jules

I just finished watching the 2004 theatrical release of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera. (Directed by Joel Schumacher.)

OH MY GODS! This movie had my jaw agape and my entire being enraptured the whole time. Gerard Butler was sexy and mysterious and angry as The Phantom, Emmy Rossum, Christine, was beautiful and has a nice, clear voice, and Patrick Wilson played Raoul. And OH MAN. I knew him from Angels in America, but I had no idea he had the voice of an absolute angel. His voice is my new musical love! *swoon*

Draaz came home and saw the tail end of the movie with me, and when it was done, he said, “So, shall I add this to the “movies to buy for Julie” list?” I just nodded and said, “Uh huh.”

The cool thing is - while I’ve known most of the music for many many years, I never knew the story. I’ve never actually seen a production of it! Never even read the original story. So, I think that makes the whole experience that much better for me than for those who’ve seen it/read it multiple times.

Now, to go find CDs with Patrick Wilson singing!

Bye Bye Baby

Posted in General at 4:21 pm by Jules

It’s been raining here for a straight week. Hard rains and wet roads. Friday night, Skip was driving into town to get some movies and a cheeseburger for me. He hit a spot in the road, hydroplaned, jumped someone’s driveway and slammed sideways into a tree.

Thank the gods he only has minor injuries and thanks to my brother for talking me into getting GAP insurance when I bought that car.

Look at it and tell me if you think it *might* be totalled. LMAO

Intellectually Lazy

Posted in General at 10:47 am by Jules

I’ve realized that I’ve become intellectually lazy, and I’ve been this way for quite some time now. I don’t like to think much about things, I don’t like to study/read about things and form an opinion. I certainly don’t like to express it.

I’ve found that I try my best to steer clear of anything that requires much deep thought and/or association when I used to seek them out.

I wonder why that is. At some point, I think I grew tired of repeating myself while discussing the same basic issues over and over again, and it eventually morphed into a desire to completely avoid any type of deep discussion or thought.

I need to work my way out of that. It’s hard. It requires thought. LMAO

Hmmmm…..
