I know my blogging as of late has been almost nonexistent, and the few things I have posted were vapid, at best. I really don’t know why I stopped. The last thing of any real consequence I blathered away about was when Jake and I went on our honeymoon. Maybe it’s because I was in a funk for awhile when we came back (didn’t WANT to come home!!!!) and just got out-of-the-swing of things or something.
At any rate, I thought I’d put something up here. A little note about my latest obsession.
Is it hair?? NO!
Is it fingernails?? NO!!
It’s…. MAKE-UP!! That’s right. You guessed it. I’ve gone whole-hog girlie with the make-ups!
I finally got some mineral make-up foundation samples (back at the end of April), and once I learned some good techniques, got a couple of concealers and a good brush or two, well… I just didn’t look back. A whole new world has opened up to me. (My pocketbook wishes that damn world would go away again. LOL.)
My latest make-up thing - other than still “perfecting” my foundation application technique - is eye make-up! WOW! Colors I never dreamed of are out there… just waiting to be had/worn/bought/tried/discarded. I mean, you can achieve looks the likes of which I didn’t even know existed! It’s so neat.
My technique still requires lots more polish, but I’m getting some decent results so far. I joined a couple of make-up forums and one Yahoo group for the specific mineral make-up I use, and I’m getting great tips and feedback, and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy! I’ve started trying to take pictures every day of my make-up (if it’s worthwhile, anyway) and post them on the FOTD (face of the day) threads on these forums. I decided today to set up my first “collection” at Flickr using my FOTD pics. So, if you want to see, you can check out the collection here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/entipy/collections/72157600276559909/
Even better than the make-up thing… my wonderful and loving husband - who tolerates all this make-up nonsense with the interest and patience of a saint - bought me a 1-carat emerald pendant for my birthday! It’s beautiful! I need to take pictures of that, too, sometime soon and post them. I think I tried one day, but they didn’t come out very well or something.
Okay, and that’s all for now.

My co-worker is my boss’s daughter. Sometimes, my boss can be… well… strange. Hence the conversation which transpired only about two minutes ago:
Co-worker: Dad, call Mom on her cell phone
Boss: Why?
Co-worker: Uhh… cause she asked you to?
Boss: I mean, why not call her at the house?
Co-worker: I don’t know.. because she’s not there?
Boss: Well, why not?
Co-worker: ….
Still LMAO up here.

Our bathroom is in my co-worker’s office.
She has a freight rep in there right now.
My stomach is upset.
I have to go #2.
I’m dying.
Okay… </TMI>

Bold each tv show of which you’ve seen three or more episodes. Italicize those which you’ve seen every single episode. (added) Strikeout those you haven’t ever heard of.
(A lot of these old shows - it’s quite likely I saw every single episode, but since I can’t say for sure, I didn’t feel it was fair to italicize them.

I know I haven’t been blogging at all lately, really, and I can’t tell you why. (cue Eagles)
But, I really like both of these quotes, so I thought I would share them.
Man is the only animal that laughs and weeps, for he is the only animal that is struck with the difference between what things are and what they ought to be.
-
William Hazlitt
The difference between a democracy and a dictatorship is that in a democracy you vote first and take orders later; in a dictatorship you don’t have to waste your time voting.
